Tuscan

The Tuscan region is known more for its quality rather than the quantity of wine it produces. Its rolling hills cover most of the area, which works well in producing quality grapes. Internationally recognized Tuscan wines make up more than 80% of the Tuscany region's red wine production. Chianti is a well-known red Tuscan wine that uses Sangiovese grapes. There are also dry white Tuscan wines and both red and white sweet Tuscan wines. White Tuscan wines are known for their floral notes, good density, and complexity. Tuscan reds offer a similar complexity and acidity with bright notes of red fruit and nuts. There are many foods that pair well with both the wide variety of Tuscan whites and reds. Spaghetti Bolognese, roast lamb or veal, as well as pheasant and wild boar all pair well with the reds. Seafood, including cioppino pairs well with Tuscan whites.
