Grenache Blanc

Wines made from the Grenache Blanc grape are characterized by intense flavors, high alcohol, and low acidity, with citrus or herbaceous notes. Grenache Blanc grapes are considered flexible in winemaking, as they can be processed in a variety of ways in order to produce several different aromas and flavors. The dominant flavors of Grenache Blanc wine include green plum, citrus zest, pear, honeysuckle, and brioche. Flavors can also range from tropical fruits to nuts and herbs as well, though. A full-bodied white wine, Grenache Blanc’s alcohol levels range around 13–15% and should be served mostly chilled at about 45-50°F, and aged 1-5 years. Grenache Blanc pairs well with chicken, seafood, lamb, and pork dishes. It can be served with softer creamy cheeses like brie, Camembert, and Gruyère, as well as with vegetables including zucchini, cauliflower, peppers, eggplant, and corn.
